Description
We are seeking dedicated and passionate Special Education Teachers SEIT to join our educational team. To be considered for the position you must have your NY State Special Education Teacher Certification. Students with Disabilities (Birth - Grade 2 or All Grades) or Special Education Permanent Certification. 1 year prior experience needed.

This role involves working with students who have diverse learning needs, including those with autism, speech delays, and other developmental challenges. The ideal candidate will create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that fosters the academic and social growth of each student. This position requires collaboration with parents, staff, and specialists to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles.
  • Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
  • Utilize various teaching strategies, including behavioral health techniques.
  • Provide support in areas such as social skills development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior for reporting purposes.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.
Requirement
  • NY State Teacher Certification in Students with Disabilities Birth - Grade 2, or All Grades or Special Education Permanent Certification
  • 2 years prior experience working with preschool-aged children
  • A compassionate approach towards working with children who have autism or other developmental challenges.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods based on individual student needs and progress.
